How we handle your data

China Leaves collects only what we need to send you tea, fulfill your orders, and — if you opt in — send you occasional emails about new arrivals and brewing notes.

What we collect

• Order details: name, shipping address, payment information (handled by Shopify, never stored on our servers).
• Email address, if you sign up for the newsletter or check out as a guest.
• Standard analytics: pages visited, device type, approximate location.

Email marketing

When you sign up for our newsletter, you're giving us permission to email you. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. We do not sell, rent, or share your email with third parties.

Cookies & analytics

We use cookies for cart persistence and to remember whether you've dismissed our welcome offer. We use Shopify's standard analytics cookies on the checkout, Google Analytics 4 on the storefront to understand which pages and teas are popular, and the Meta Pixel (Facebook) so we can measure the performance of our paid campaigns on Facebook and Instagram and reach people likely to enjoy our teas. We don't sell your browsing data.

You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing Google's browser opt-out add-on. You can control Meta's use of your activity for advertising in your Facebook ad preferences, or opt out of interest-based advertising industry-wide at the DAA opt-out page.

Your rights

You can request a copy of the data we hold on you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing store@chinaleaves.com. We respond within 30 days.
